Does Rick Santorum Worship Satan?

DEVIL Add comments

In a 2008 Rick Santorum gave a speech where he elaborated on the topic of Satan. Satan is a fascinating subject, but often misunderstood. People really underestimate Satan. As the bible says: “And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.” Satan does not wear horns and hooves but angel wings.

There are many different versions of Jesus Christ; they are not all the same. The evangelical Christian’s Jesus is not the same as the Jesus of the Mormons, whom is not the same as the Jesus of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. The various versions of Jesus are so different they might as well be entirely separate deities. Which Jesus Christ does Rick Santorum worship?  Santorum’s comments about Satan actually reveal the true nature of Santorum’s Jesus. Rick Santorum said:

“If you were Satan, who would you attack, in this day and age? There is no one else to go after, other than the United States. And that’s been the case for now almost 200 years, once America’s pre-eminence was sown by our great Founding Fathers. He didn’t have much success in the early days—our foundation was very strong, in fact, is very strong. But over time, that great, acidic quality of time corrodes away even the strongest foundations. And Satan has done so, by attacking the great institutions of America, using those great vices of pride, vanity and sensuality.”

Rick Santorum suggests America was more godly 200 years ago when we had slavery, when we destroyed the American Indians and suppressed the rights of women. I’d suggest we have a far more humane nation today then we did under slavery.  Santorum views the era of slavery, where only white male landowners could vote, as the golden age of Christianity.

Today Santorum believes the government should regulate gay relationships. He has equated gay relationships as being on the same level as bestiality, incest or pedophilia. This tactic is used to dehumanize someone you disagree with; deny their humanity, make them an inhuman “other”. Then it becomes acceptable to persecute and annihilate them. This tactic of dehumanization was used by the Nazis to persecute and destroy the Jews. The dehumanization of racism was used to justify the slavery of Africans.  Today we dehumanize gays.

Today some worship a version of Jesus that justifies the persecution of gay people.  In the past this same version of Jesus was called on to destroy Jews and enslave Africans. People quoted the Bible to justify slavery, and anti-Semitism proclaimed their beliefs by claiming Jews killed Jesus.

Who then is Rick Santorum’s Jesus? The Jesus of Rick Santorum is NOT the same Jesus of Martin Luther King Jr.  Rick Santorum worships the one who masquerades himself as an angel of light. The Jesus of Rick Santorum is the Jesus of Hate.

“If you were Satan, who would you attack, in this day and age?”

I suggest Satan would attack Christianity from within and destroy it by proclaiming bigotry as a Christian virtue.  Those who worship the Jesus of Hate worship Satan disguised as Christ.  It is pretty amazing how many Christians are actually Satan worshippers without knowing it.  Or perhaps they are not so gullible…perhaps they know exactly what they are worshipping…even if they can’t admit it.

Oh, how true, how true. This Santorum character is a Blunt, moronic Liar and a racist to boot. He contends that in The Netherlands (for instance) elderly people are consistently killed because they’re supposed to be of no use to society. A blatant lie that he never backed up with readily verifiable, objective statistics. This man is a disgrace to America, a “modern” satan worshipper indeed, whose evil intentions need to be exposed asap.

I don’t know about Santorum being the Devil but I’ve heard that Nickolas Cage was a vampire. Just kidding.

    Have a great day!

    Hi Frederick,
I know a gay couple, a pair of middle-aged men who lived together for a long time. They are among the nicest, gentlest people I know. When religious types vilify these gay couples, I think of these two. I shudder to imagine their fate if they lived in past during Nazi Germany. They’d die in a concentration camp alongside the Jews for simply being who they are. This irrational hatred is a manifestation of the spirit of Satan, and it lives on today in politics and religion.

For anyone cares, here is a Wikipedia entry about Santorum and homosexuality:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santorum_controversy_regarding_homosexuality
    A quote from this:
Santorum described the ability to regulate consensual homosexual acts as comparable to the states’ ability to regulate other consensual and non-consensual sexual behavior, such as adultery, polygamy, child molestation, incest, and bestiality, whose decriminalization he believed would threaten society and the family, as they are not monogamous and heterosexual.

    Hi Steve,
I am looking forward to a movie coming out in June: Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. I read the book and enjoyed it. The author treated President Lincoln with respect, I hope the movie does the same.

I wonder what Mr. Lincoln would think of Mr. Santorum. I can guess.
